New Midspan for Low-Port Density Wireless LAN and Network Deployments

San Jose, CA, Farmingdale, NY & Hod Hasharon, Israel - December 1, 2004 -
PowerDsine(tm) (NASDAQ: PDSN), a pioneer in Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Solutions, announced today the availability of its 3001 PoE Midspan, a
one-port power hub which is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3af PoE
standard. The newest member of the PowerDsine 3000 Midspan family is
designed for remote powering of Wireless LAN Access Points (WLAN APs) and
other low-port density deployments.

A live demo of PowerDsine's new 3001 PoE Midspan will be available at
PowerDsine's Booth #625 during Jupiter media's Wi-Fi Planet Conference &
Expo on December 1-2 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose.

The 3001 Midspan is the latest product to emerge from PowerDsine's PoE
midspan portfolio. The PowerDsine 3001 PoE Midspan eliminates the need for
an external power supply and provides compact, affordable and safe powering
of 802.3af-compliant powered terminals as well as pre-standard powered

The 3001 Midspan offers an interlocking feature that allows users to scale
WLAN deployments by linking together multiple one-port Midspans to support
additional devices. With the interlocking feature, users no longer have to
deal with existing single-port power injector solutions, which create a huge
wiring mess as new devices are added to the network.

"Until now, there hasn't been a compact, affordable, safe and reliable way
to provide inline power for low-port density deployments of wireless LAN
access points and network cameras," said Igal Rotem, CEO of PowerDsine.
"With the emergence of the 3001 midspan, we offer a highly scalable solution
which is ideal for growing businesses that want to cost effectively deploy
wireless LAN access points, network cameras for security reasons, and a
myriad of other Ethernet-connected devices."

Product Availability
The PowerDsine 3001 PoE Midspan will be available in January 2005 and
carries a list price of $59 (£31).

About Power over Ethernet Technology
PoE is a technology for wired Ethernet, the most widely installed local area
network technology in use today. PoE allows the electrical power necessary
for the operation of each end-device, to be carried by data cables rather
than by separate power cords. It minimizes the number of wires that must be
used in order to install the network, resulting in lower cost, less
downtime, easier maintenance and greater installation flexibility.

About PowerDsine
PowerDsine(tm) (NASDAQ: PDSN) designs, develops and supplies integrated
circuits, modules and systems that enable the implementation of Power over
Ethernet in local area networks, providing the capability to deliver and
manage electrical power over data network cables. PowerDsine offers
integrated products and system solutions to communications equipment
manufacturers in the telecom and datacom industries who incorporate them
into, or bundle them with, their products. PowerDsine is a founding member
of the IEEE 802.3af Task Force. For more information, please visit
