Utility based contract anticipated to reach £1.5m over 3 years

London, 3rd December 2004 - Attenda, Europe's leading specialist in operating enterprise and Internet applications, has entered into an innovative transaction based contract with UK airline bmi. Under the terms of the three year agreement bmi will pay no minimum charge for Attenda to manage its two web sites. Attenda will be paid purely according to the number of flight reservations made through and the no-frills

"The variable cost model aligns with our business metrics and we fully expect significant savings" said Richard Dawson, bmi's IT director. "We have entered into a true partnership, with Attenda being remunerated in line with bmi meeting its sales forecasts. We will be sharing success."

Echoing those comments, David Bryon, bmibaby commercial director added "We chose Attenda because they understand our business needs. We know we will get exactly the right service levels, especially at peak booking times."

Each web site has its own communications and content applications; these link into bmi corporate systems and those run by bmi's booking agents. bmi expects the web sites to have a combined turnover of more than £300m in the first year of the contract.

The formal contract was signed in early November. Attenda is in the process of building the Microsoft based platform which includes 30 servers and full disaster recovery. The solution is due to go live in the first quarter of 2005.

David Godwin, VP Sales at Attenda is enthusiastic about the benefits of the agreement and observed "The approach we have taken with bmi gives Attenda a leadership position in the race to deliver variable cost utility computing to clients. Like any other utility, Attenda's flexibility means that bmi will only pay for what they use with fees being paid exclusively on a per transaction basis. Attenda will carry the risk regardless of whether the number of online bookings increase or decrease over the duration of the agreement."

The contract represents a further extension of Attenda's presence in the leisure and travel industry. Attenda's existing clients in this sector include Avis, easyCar and Emirates.
