MG Rover Invests in New Workstation Technology

MG Rover has invested in 35 workstations and servers supplied by Solihull-based Infrasys Ltd.

The Sunblade 1500 workstations, supplied by Infrasys Ltd, will be used within MG Rovers’ product design engineering environment .

Says Infrasys managing director Pete McCormack: “The SunBlade workstations provide an extremely cost effective platform for MG Rovers’ Product Design Tools including the main design application Catia.”

“It was important to MG Rover that we should provide seamless integration of these existing applications with the new workstations and we have been able to deliver thanks to our testing procedures prior to installation.”

He adds that, the compatibility of the workstations with MG Rovers’ existing operating system and applications environment has reduced typical installation time to only two hours. Excellent performance and low cost of ownership made the SunBlade 1500s an ideal solution for MG Rover’s requirements says McCormack.

Based at Warwick University’s Innovations Centre at Blythe Valley Business Park Infrasys Ltd is an IT Integration, Consultancy and Services company that aims to reduce the cost and complexity of IT for its clients.
