Bridgeworks extends European reach through new distribution and sales agreement with ACAL
Christchurch, UK - 12th January 2005 - With immediate effect, distributor ACAL Storage Networking and Bridgeworks have reached an agreement that will see distribution and sales of Bridgeworks’ range of storage products throughout EMEA, via ACAL’s network of more than 400 integrators and resellers.
The agreement is a cornerstone of Bridgeworks’ European growth plan. Products covered by the agreement include Bridgeworks’ Potomac iSCSI Bridges, Tamar Fibre Channel Bridge, and SCSI Converters.
Bridgeworks is Europe’s only manufacturer of iSCSI and Fibre Channel bridges, and the Potomac iSCSI bridge is the first iSCSI bridge in ACAL’s product portfolio.
Andrew Litherland, EMEA director, ACAL Storage Networking said: “We maintain our leading position by bringing only the best storage networking solutions to our customers. Bridgeworks’ products meet the criteria, providing the highest level of performance and reliability with unmatched value.
“In times of tightened IT budgets throughout Europe, this is important for our network of resellers and integrators, enabling them to build and deliver more cost-effective business continuity and disaster recovery solutions for their customers,” he continued.
David Trossell, Bridgeworks’ CEO, said: "ACAL has an outstanding track record and reputation, and we’re delighted to conclude this agreement. We’re also confident that our products will delight ACAL’s integrators and resellers throughout EMEA and, by extending our product range in due course, will ensure they always have leading edge iSCSI products in the portfolio.
“As IP SANs continue to assume greater importance, this represents a good opportunity for everyone involved in the value chain,” he added.
The low-cost of the recently-launched Potomac iSCSI bridge, combined with native support for disk, tape, optical and changer devices, provides a realistic and affordable strategy to enable the ongoing use of existing SCSI-based back-up and archive installations.
All Bridgeworks products are based on open, industry standards and protocols, ensuring that ACAL maintains its ‘storage agnostic’ position.
