Companies will offer a new ’network-to-bill’ revenue assurance solution to greatly improve service providers’ billing accuracy, operating margins and profitability
Azure Solutions, the revenue assurance company, today announced an independent solutions supplier (ISS) agreement with Agilent Technologies Inc. whereby the two companies will jointly market Azure’s Certo Revenue Assurance platform (offered through the recent acquisition of Connexn Technologies) and Agilent’s acceSS7 monitoring system. By using both companies’ products, telecommunications service providers across the globe will have the most accurate means to identify and correct usage-data errors throughout the entire “network-to-bill” revenue life cycle.
Agilent’s acceSS7 market-leading network monitoring system captures, stores and enriches signaling system 7 (SS7) records of all network transactions for voice and data services. Azure’s Certo platform and revenue assurance applications will utilise these enriched signaling records as a gold-standard reference for actual service usage. These solutions ensure that service providers have total data accuracy as they process network transactions across the revenue chain.
“End-to-end revenue integrity begins with an independent source of information,” said Jason Briggs, program manager, Yankee Group. “When performing revenue assurance analysis on telephony usage, this independent information source is the SS7 record. Increasingly, we see revenue assurance departments recognising the SS7 record independence and are using SS7 as core component of their usage accuracy analysis.”
The Certo platform is designed to restore certainty to service providers’ operations with automatic detection and correction of data integrity errors that cause revenue leakage, unnecessary costs and customer dissatisfaction. The results are increased profitability and confidence in financial reporting. The platform offers an easily configurable environment to streamline and automate revenue assurance program execution and discrepancy resolution using online, interactive data navigation, display and reporting capabilities. It is ideal for any wireline, wireless and broadband operator that is looking for a scalable solution capable of managing enterprise-wide revenue assurance initiatives from a single, unified computing platform.
The solutions provide a high level of data integrity for accurate financial reporting and help customers meet strict reporting regulations such as those found in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. This legislation has significantly increased the need for financial information that is based on accurate and strictly controlled data. Most telecom operators rely on switch or billing system data to reconcile revenues, but with billions of service usage records passing through multiple systems, interfaces and organisational boundaries, the risk of record corruption or loss is significant. The solutions provide advanced levels of data integrity for more accurate revenue reporting.
“We are pleased to complement the Certo platform with our acceSS7 monitoring system,” said Tom Walls, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Telecom Systems Division, “The solutions transform the network service-delivery-to-bill process and will improve service providers’ business efficiency and competitiveness.”
“By using both products, telecommunications providers have a complete solution that ensures the accuracy of usage data from network-to-bill,” said Steven Bruny, president of Azure Solutions Inc., and the previous COO of Connexn Technologies. “With Agilent’s acceSS7 monitoring platform and our revenue assurance solution, carriers will be able to readily identify, correct and recoup not only lost revenue, but also hidden costs that often are undetected and impact the bottom line.”
