UK businesses struggling to fill employment gaps, can log on to a new website from this week, that aims to attract employees from the new member countries of the EU.
The website called www.simply-recruit.com was founded by Sarah Jane Ormston who is aged 39.
She told us this week,
‘I had the idea after reading that British Companies were struggling to fill over 600,000 low and unskilled jobs. I felt that there was an opportunity to provide a reputable contact point for potential staff from the newly - joined countries of the EU such as the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Malta and Cyprus.
The types of Companies who are looking for employees are in agriculture, catering, industrial, domestic and marine sectors.
We are all aware that there have been some unscrupulous companies targeting overseas workers who wish to come to the UK. We are keen to ensure that not only is all documentation completed correctly, but that all of our client companies fully comply with UK legislation and pay at least the minimum wage laid down by the Government. They may of course be offering more than the minimum wage.
I would also emphasise that the vacancies are also open, to any UK employees who may wish to apply. We all know however that the labour market in the UK is making recruitment more difficult for employers.
There will be no charge to potential employees, as any costs will be paid by the recruiting companies - and we aim to make the recruitment process as straightforward as possible, both for employers and also potential recruits.
We have already had a lot of interest from potential workers overseas and from companies who have seen the site.’
Ms Ormston already runs a successful website for Au Pairs.

The "Business Britain" report by Lloyds TSB found that almost a quarter of the 2,000 businesses surveyed had difficulties finding unskilled workers. At this moment in time it is believed that there are a hard core of over 600,000 jobs available in the UK with no takers!
