CMA today announced a strategic alliance with independent ICT consultancy Improcom. The deal sees Improcom becoming the sponsor of the CMA chairman during 2005.

Under the terms of the alliance, Improcom will work with the CMA Chairman in developing CMA’s overall strategic agenda. Improcom will also assist the CMA Special Interest Group (SIG) Leaders in developing their programmes, input to CMA’s regular event and conference programme and advise on content for the four CMA Focus Days throughout the year including production of white papers.

One of the first tasks is for CMA and Improcom to work together on four key issues critical to UK businesses – namely IP, Mobility, Network Security and Broadband – examining both technology and business advantage opportunities. Improcom is also helping CMA to evaluate membership services and to help take CMA out to a more inclusive industry-wide membership.

Speaking about the alliance, Glenn Powell, Chief Executive of CMA, said: “As the UK’s premier business communications user association it is crucial that we continue to add value for our membership base and to include the ICT industry as a whole in our plans for the coming year. Improcom will provide CMA and its new Chairman with valuable advice and consultancy regarding our strategic direction.”
