Speed-reading Jump! software beats information overload
- Corpora launches 'language-savvy' knowledge discovery tool -

'Language-savvy' Jump! tackles the assault of information overload and simplifies working life by enabling people to interrogate large electronic documents for relevant details quickly and easily. Launched by knowledge management company, Corpora plc, the new tool 'speed-reads' material to create a map of contents that accelerates understanding and improves efficiency.

Jump! enables organisations – from government bodies tasked with analysing and précising cumbersome reports, to publishers and media agencies working to tight deadlines – to increase accuracy and productivity. For example, the 428-page 9/11 Commission Report becomes a manageable information source in eight minutes. Equally, the key facts and conclusions of last year's 52-page Budd Report can be found in two minutes.

Jump! uses Natural Language Processing to build a map of the information contained within big text documents. Jump! references the key terms (the nouns), and the context in which they appear (the verbs) as it finds them. This blueprint enables the user to quickly locate the people, places, companies, etc mentioned - and the events with which they are connected. Jump! also understands to whom pronouns (he, she, it, etc) refer.

Mark Thompson, CEO, Corpora plc, stated: "In today’s world of over flowing inboxes and countless websites, it is all too easy for the sheer volume of data to overwhelm the user. Corpora is reversing this process and maximising the possibilities offered by the incredible advances in technology that have brought this wealth of knowledge to our fingertips. Jump! is far more than a simplistic search tool – it has the ability to revolutionise the way in which people work. For the first time, those overwhelmed with unstructured text information will be able to interrogate it according to their own personal requirements, thereby bringing about increased reading speeds, intelligent focus, and a real competitive edge."

Jump! is one of a portfolio of knowledge management products available from Corpora, all of which were developed by leading linguistic engineers. Other solutions include: Summarize!, an instant document summariser; Find!, a next generation, super-secure information searching solution; Connect!, a collaborative-community system that brings people, documents and expertise together; Burst!, which clusters unstructured news information into specific events; and Sentiment!, which automatically analyses news sources to determine whether the stories contained are positive, negative or neutral.

Corpora is currently demonstrating Jump! in order to show its 'speed-reading' power and capacity in practise. For details on arranging a one-to-one demonstration, please call Katrina Walker/Kate Alexander at Spreckley Partners Ltd on +44 (0)20 7388 9988.
