Comverse Introduces Who Called For Video
NEW YORK, NY, February 9, 2005 Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology,
Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the worlds leading supplier of software and
systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services,
today announced the availability of Who Called for Video, a new service
that delivers textual notification of a missed video call or videomail
hang-ups along with the first frame of the video message. Leveraging the
success of Comverses Who Called missed call notification offering, Who
Called for Video is a call completion service designed to generate wireless
operator revenues.
While 3G operators strive to deliver comprehensive network coverage, Who
Called for Video ensures that subscribers will receive missed call
notification for video calls when the handset is off or out of 3G coverage.
Available for both Videomail and non-Videomail subscribers, Who Called for
Video is designed to help subscribers develop a high level of confidence in
video calling.
3G operators are seeking to capitalize on the growing number of
video-enabled handsets by offering more video-based services, said Benny
Einhorn, Chief Marketing Officer at Comverse. "This service complements
Comverses Video Communication & Entertainment service suite that includes
Videomail, Mobile Video Portal and Video Fun Dial.
