New High-capacity Gateway Supports Thousands Of Data Transactions Per
Second On A Single Compact Node

3 GSM WORLD CONGRESS, CANNES, FRANCE, February 14, 2005 Comverse, a unit
of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the worlds leading
supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced
communication services, today announced the release of Comverse Mobile Data
Gateway (MDG) version 4.5. Supporting thousands of transactions per second
(TPS) on a single node, MDG 4.5 enables operators to cost-effectively
manage growing levels of mobile data traffic and generate greater revenues
from data services. This new version is designed for operators that need
to efficiently manage millions of transactions per hour generated by
several million subscribers.

Comverse Mobile Data Gateway (MDG) is a telco-grade network-based mobile
data traffic-enabling platform. A robust, high-capacity solution with a
small footprint, MDG 4.5 is designed to support the management and delivery
of all IP-based data services including browsing, multimedia messaging,
downloading and gaming, creating a central point of control for such
services.

"Wireless operators can expect strong revenue growth from data services.
But they will only turn that into profit if they can produce, aggregate and
deliver multiple new services cost-effectively, said John Delaney, Senior
Analyst at Ovum. "That will require a system that can support data
transactions in the thousands per second range, and preferably from a
single service delivery platform.

"Given the increasing levels of mobile data traffic, the high-capacity
Comverse MDG solution meets a real market need," said Benny Einhorn, Chief
Marketing Officer at Comverse. "The MDG roadmap supports not only expanded
data traffic from existing mobile services, but also the addition of
emerging services over time."

About the Comverse MDG Portfolio
Comverse Mobile Data Gateway (MDG) is a telco-grade network-based mobile
Internet platform that enables wireless network operators to offer wireless
data services to a growing subscriber base, ensuring high availability,
scalability, security and geographical distribution, while enhancing and
optimizing user experience.

Comverse MDG serves a variety of terminals such as wireless handsets, PDAs,
and laptop computers on different bearers such as GSM, CDMA, GPRS, 1xRTT,
CDMA2000, and UMTS. MDG supports both WAP 2.0 and HTTP-based services,
providing the environment and value-added services for browsing, multimedia
messaging services and notifications.

MDG creates a central point of control for the entire set of data services
and allows the operator to optimize and control data delivery, while
improving service quality and user experience, and shortening time to
market for new services.
