Serengeti Systems propose to implement their e-intranet Content Management solution to provide a scaleable and robust system to enable the University to manage all content for publication to the websites and Intranet sites.
The system has been developed based on the Oracle platform utilising the Internet File System component to provide a secure and reliable platform. In addition, basing the system on the 9i platform ensures that it fully meets with the Universities declared IT strategy and also makes use of existing Oracle licensing to provide further and better value.
e-intranet Content Management solution will be fully installed by Serengeti Systems using its own training engineers in conjunction with the University staff. Serengeti intend to work closely with the client team to ensure maximum knowledge transfer at all stages. In addition full training will be provided to university staff as required, to ensure that they are comfortable with the processes and feel able to use the system to its full potential.
There are two phases to this project, a Pilot stage which will prove initial concept and product familiarisation, and a completion stage which will allow e-intranet to be integrated with UDO/NPS.
The project will focus on the publication of a portion of a website which is generated from content stored within e-intranet. Microsoft Word documents will be used to create content which will be published to a web server. A consistent look and feel of the documents will be achieved by applying a template to the converted documents before they are published to the web server.
SERENGETI SYSTEMS have extensive experience working with Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Government bodies providing scanning and document management solutions. Recent installations include; Langside College, Liverpool University, Metropolitan Housing Trust, Hyde Group, Epping Forest District Council, University of Edinburgh, Forestry Commission, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Berwick upon Tweed Borough Council and others.
