* Appointment follows spate of new business wins including a contract with Inforenz, the computer forensics investigators, to provide a dynamic content management system
CAMBRIDGE, England, March 3, 2005 Igentics (www.igentics.com), the Great Chesterford-based Internet engineering company, has appointed Philippa Cross as its first dedicated project manager following a spate of new business wins, including a new contract with Inforenz, the computer forensics investigators, to provide a dynamic content management system for its web site.
Philippa will take over the day-to-day management of all projects providing clients with improved customer service and response times. The appointment will free up Igentics’ team of business analysts and software engineers to concentrate on custom building strategic, flexible and innovative Internet-enabled applications which make it easier for its customers to trade.
A University of Cambridge music graduate, Philippa has a background in commercial research and joins Igentics from Hallmarks, an EEDA (East of England Development Agency) and ESF (European Social Fund) project, where she created an integrated database linking some forty-five lifelong learning projects across the region.
Philippa will also be responsible for further developing the company’s custom project management methodology the Igentics Management Architecture Tool (IMAT). This enables e-business solutions to be built and deployed in a structured and controlled manner ensuring that projects are delivered on time, to specification and on-budget.
“I am looking forward to my new role at Igentics and in particular managing the new accounts which Igentics has secured recently,” said Philippa. “Igentics’ philosophy is about making sure that clients get the best out of the technology that they have already invested in my job is to make sure that once the requirements, architecture, budget and timescale are agreed, the project runs to schedule.”
Greg Holmes, co-founder and operations director of Igentics, said: “We needed a dedicated person who was not a developer to manage our growing customer portfolio. We worked with Philippa on the Hallmarks project and she was outstanding so we had no reservations in offering her the position when it came up.”
“We are also now looking for additional software engineers with development skills on a wide variety of platforms including VB, Java, ASP, HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, ASP.NET (C#), SQL Server, PHP and MS Office,” added Holmes. “We have seen an upturn in business in the last few months mainly from companies that need specialist help to integrate their IT systems and transform their web sites into sophisticated trading posts but that are wary of expensive ‘off-the-shelf’ solutions.”
Igentics was founded in 2001 by industry veterans David Donnan and Greg Holmes. The company has a creative, methodical and holistic approach to IT projects and offers a range of solutions including E-procurement, supply chain integration, technical scoping, real time data solutions, data exchanges and customer/supplier portals. Igentics is technology agnostic but has strong links with strategic partners including Microsoft, Sun and IBM - and has an excellent track record of linking and integrating systems, in particular, legacy systems.
Igentics has worked in partnership with a whole range of organisations from government departments and start-ups through to multinational companies. These include, among others, AOL, Anglia Property Preservation, the BBC, Blue grape, Cadogan Education, Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridgeshire Learning & Skills Council, Cornelius, Costa Dating, Ericsson, IMI Norgren and Wyko.
