When it launched FQ was the first in a new genre of man’s magazines aimed exclusively at the new breed of family orientated men. Since then other titles have come and gone but FQ remains the leading force in the dad mag market.
FQ celebrates fatherhood and all the trials and tribulations that being a father brings. It caters for today’s modern man and the sophisticated outlook their new role has brought them.

A recent FQ – the Essential Dad Mag poll asked fathers to rate their experiences at the birth of their child.

○ Despite men now being a familiar site in the delivery room 18% of the men surveyed felt that the midwives had not included them at all during their partners labour and birth.

○ Even though they realised the pressures and time constraints put on the hospital staff 23% of the men surveyed felt that more could have been done to include them in this life changing event.

○ Despite all the negative stories circulating around hospital practices and inconsistent care, 88% of men were happy with the treatment they received from hospital staff and thoroughly enjoyed being present at the birth of their child.

A feature in this month’s issue of FQ – The Essential Dad mag gives help and advice to prospective fathers on what to expect at the birth of their child. The March / April issue of FQ magazine is out now.

Notes to editors:
The FQ Birth Experiences survey was carried out on the FQ magazine website 100 men were asked the following questions:
Did the hospital midwives actively include you in your partners labour and birth?
Do you feel that the hospital staff could have done more to include you?
Were you happy with the way that you were treated through the labour and birth?
