Regional chief executives of European and US Operations will play an enhanced role in rapidly expanding Group

Logicalis Group today announced that Ian Cook, CEO of European Operations, and Mike Cox, CEO of US Operations have been appointed to the Group Board, effective immediately. This move is in recognition both of the instrumental role each has played in the growth of Logicalis on both sides of the Atlantic within the past two years and the need to increase senior management representation and coordination at board level in order to enhance the quality of tactical and strategic decision making.

Commenting on the appointments, Logicalis Group chief executive, Jens Montanana said, “Ian and Mike each have outstanding expertise in sales, operations and management, and we recognise that their appointments will greatly enhance our ability to execute our ambitious growth strategy.”

Through a combination of organic growth and merger and acquisition, the company is currently in the process of becoming a dominant supplier in its sector - delivering secure, converged computing and communications infrastructure and services to ambitious and innovative organisations.

Cook’s tenure most recently resulted in the acquisition of Notability Solutions Limited, a privately-held company and one of IBM’s top business partners in the UK. Notability is to be the first of a series of deals to be concluded as Cook continues to execute Logicalis’ strategy to augment the company’s offering.
Cook also oversaw the combination of Logicalis Group’s two existing UK network integration businesses, Logicalis UK and Satelcom to form Logicalis Network Solutions. This move brought together Intelligent Networking and Secure Fixed and Mobile Network capabilities - all underpinned by a fully comprehensive services portfolio.

In the US, Cox has managed the growth of Logicalis’ US business to a turnover of nearly US$300 million. In keeping with Logicalis’ strategy of purchasing solution providers with complementary vendor lines to strengthen its product and service offerings, Cox oversaw the acquisition of Solution Technology Inc., a US Premier IBM business partner, in September 2004. More recently, Logicalis announced its intent to acquire Eisco Technology Inc. a $20 million, privately-held US IBM solution provider that focuses on high-end IBM zSeries mainframe solutions.

About Ian Cook
Cook joined Logicalis as CEO, European Operations in 2003. He joined Logicalis from Damovo S.A., the global communications services company. There he served as executive vice president sales and marketing, responsible for the company's solution development and market proposition.

Prior to Damovo, in 1990 Ian created Siemens Networks Systems Ltd (SNSL), the company that subsequently became Omnetica, one of the UK's leading providers of network solutions and services. Over a 10 year period at SNSL he held a number of senior positions including group managing director responsible for operations across Europe. Previously he held senior positions with Case Communications Limited, a manufacturer of data communications equipment, and Philips Industries.

About Mike Cox
