Stringfellows arouses interest of Virgin Mobile

14.04.05: Virgin Mobile has teamed up with Peter Stringfellow to offer “cheeky fun on the phone” with the launch of glamorous colour photographs of both men and women from his world-renowned nightclub, Stringfellows. Virgin Mobile is the first UK operator to offer shots of gorgeous men to appeal to its female customers, as well as glamorous shots of beautiful women.
Virgin Mobile is offering two-tiers of content, one of a more `fun’ nature and the other is `adult’ level. The first level of 11 Angels and eight hunks will be available online at www.virginmobile.com/bites or via WAP, direct from Virgin Mobile’s BITES service. Keeping in-line with the industry’s protective Adult content standards, there will be a ‘no-nipple’ policy for female pictures and all Angels will be partly dressed in lingerie or swimwear. The second tier of content will include an additional ten ‘middle-shelf’ adult-only images, which will only be available to customers aged 18 or over who have pre-registered to access the content and completed a credit check to prove they are over-18. This entry system is technologically secure and meets the mobile industry’s strict codes of adult content practice.
The pictures of Stringfellows’ female ‘Angels’ and male hunks will sit within Virgin Mobile’s entertainment service, BITES from Monday 25th April. Non Virgin Mobile customers will also be able to purchase the pictures online. BITES is Virgin Mobile’s branded content service, based on a clear and simple consumer insight: the need to be entertained while mobile, presenting the perfect antidote to boredom.
