Hi-res photos are available from or

Weybridge, Surrey – 19 April 2005 - The UK’s largest online pharmacy, The
Garden Pharmacy (, has chosen a new multi-user, ecommerce
and order-processing system from Actinic to cope with growing sales.

Based in Covent Garden, The Garden Pharmacy started trading online with
Actinic in 1999. Web sales account for 40% of its £3.5 million annual
turnover, and have increased by 35% in the last year. The new system, based
on the Multi-user Version of Actinic Business, will allow up to ten
networked PCs to process online and offline orders simultaneously. The new
system saves about four hours of work a day, i.e. about half a member of staff.

MD Harry Ganz comments, “As well as enabling us to process multiple orders
simultaneously, the software supports barcoding for data transfer between
applications, and also allows us to combine multiple steps into a
single-click procedure. It is a perfect fit for our requirements.”

Phil Rothwell, MD of Actinic, adds, “Actinic Business Multi User Version
was designed to meet the needs of small to medium multi-channel businesses
with large order volumes and so we are delighted with all the positive
feedback we’ve received. Furthermore, it also seems that the starting price
of £2000 (which includes installation), is extremely affordable.”
