Paxman tops political sex poll

Voters would rather sleep with Jeremy Paxman than any of the main political party leaders, according to a poll on the General Erection Web site (www.generalerection.co.uk).

The site asked voters to forget policies and think about passsion - raw, naked, thrusting passion - and to vote for the party leader they'd most like to sleep with. Or, if they couldn't bear the through of having sex with any of them, to cast a vote for Newsnight's rottweiler instead.

With more than 9,000 votes cast, Paxman, who has a reputation of giving politicians a hard time, had secured an impressive 34% of the vote.

Tony Blair currently trails in second place with 28%, with voters perhaps not trusting that he'll keep his morning-after promises.

Libdem leader Charles Kennedy has an impressive standing, being the toast of 24% of voters.

But it's Tory leader Michael Howard has the most disappointing showing, with a mere 14% of votes cast in favour of a night of lust with the Prince of Darkness.

With 8 days until polling day, there's still plenty of time for voters to decide who's the biggest member in a well-hung parliament.
