Meridea Financial Software Ltd. today (April 26th) announced an agreement to expand their partnership with SAP AG to intensify their joint business cooperation to a global level. Meridea is partnering with SAP in the area of multi-channel banking. This will enable SAP to make multi-channel banking a reality for its customers. Initially, it will mean that Meridea's expertise in self-service front-end solutions will enable different banking channels to be linked and combined with SAP® for Banking, SAP's leading solution for the banking industry.

Meridea is already able to integrate on-line banking channels including the most advanced mobile banking solution based on SAP's flexible and scalable integration platform. Further plans include the development of a next generation solution to link the high street branch operations into a true multi-channel process integration for banking. This agreement is an extension of a successful sales and marketing partnership in Finland and the Nordic region formed in early 2004 between SAP Finland and Meridea.

Jukka Riivari, CEO and President of Meridea explained; "Most banks still have separate systems covering online banking, call centre operations, mobile banking, and the high street branch. Very few of these channels can talk or interact with each other so they each have a different view of the customer and their needs. This does not make for a good customer experience! Now with SAP for Banking offer we will be able to realise the dream of building one, easy to deploy package that fully integrates all of these channels on the same system."
