Winnersh, Berkshire, 3 May 2005 - Advanced Digital Information Corporation (Nasdaq: ADIC), the leader in Intelligent Storage solutions for the open systems market, today announced that it has appointed Cristina James, previously Quantum Corporation’s VAR channel manager, as eVAR channel manager to head up an aggressive push into the enterprise space.

The move mirrors a four-month campaign by ADIC UK to recruit Authorised VARS (AVARs) to strengthen its channel to the SME market. The AVAR campaign is headed up by an ex-Overland channel specialist, Pam Napier.

“We need to balance out our focus,” said Christo Conidaris, regional director for ADIC UK and International. “The AVAR programme to reach more SMEs has been an outstanding success under Pam Napier’s management but now we need to reflect the breadth of our products and remind the enterprise market of what makes our products unique. Cristina is the perfect person for this job, someone who knows what the enterprise market needs, how the enterprise channel works and how to compete to win partners and to help them make big-ticket sales.”

At Quantum Corporation, Cristina was responsible for managing strategic VARs in the UK and Distribution Partners in Middle East and Africa. She was also responsible for business development of large accounts through the Channel and new VAR and distributor recruitment for UK, Middle East and Africa.

“As someone who has been in the industry and built strong relationships with vendors, ISVs, distributors and channel partners, I know what makes the industry tick and which vendors I would bet on: which is why I moved to ADIC,” said Cristina James, ADIC’s new eVAR channel manager.
Cristina concluded, “ADIC has a broad and proven product portfolio and a strong management team that give the company real direction. The combination of the two presents a phenomenal opportunity in the enterprise channel. There are some strong eVARs such as Kingswell, Trisys, HDS and Redstor, but with products such as the Scalar family of tape libraries and the Pathlight VX disk-based backup solution there is so much market potential - ADIC has a huge opportunity to grow in this sector with the right kind of channel expansion.”

Before working for Quantum, Cristina held positions at SAS Institute, Pacific Data and National Finance Corporation. She has a first class honours Bachelors degree in Economics and Banking and speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese.
