TENA UNCOVERS THE UK'S' UNDIES' SECRETS, REVEALING WHAT GETS THE
NATION HOT UNDER THE COLLAR!

Thong's or boxers, wherever you look you will spot a pair trying to escape, so much so, that they have become the new style phenomenon. As the 'Undies' debate hots up as the most talked about fashion accessory of the 21st Century - bolstered by the likes of J-Lo and Beckham being hailed as 'undies' style icons - accentuated curves and sexuality paired with comfort and security are in for 2005. Such an observation lead TENA to commission research focusing on attitudes to 'undies' amongst noughties men & women - evaluating pet loves vs. hates.

Eye opener1

It's not just women who go that extra mile when dressing to impress:
* 43% of men surveyed were 'White Knights' opting for crispy, clean Calvin Klein's, 51% of which were singletons hoping to make a good impression (the lucky boxer prowess).
* 43% of married 'White Knights' say theirs helps to keep the magic alive!!
* 58% of female thong wearer's have special 'undies' for romantic evenings.

What's Hot, What's Not!!

* One in five male singletons rate ' boxers above the trousers' or the thugged-out look (a la David Beckham).
* 29% of the 'thugged-out look' males ranked romantic evenings as a priority to put this look to the test.

Thong vs. French Knicker1

Thong's and French Knicker's proved most popular among younger women seeking comfort and style.
* 49% of singletons wear thong's with a sophisticated 30% of singletons opting for the French Knicker - deemed much more stylish when wearing hipster jeans avoiding the tacky 'whale-tail' fashion faux pas.
* Only 4% of women admitted to flashing their 'whale-tail'.

Celebrity style stakes1

David Beckham and Kylie Minogue topped a poll of sexiest male and female seen in 'undies'. Kylie topped the style barometer with 42% of the male vote, followed closely by J-Lo who proved a hit among the younger, single man. Metrosexual Beckham received 44% of the female vote - five times more than second placed sizzling Scandinavian, Freddie Ljundberg (who has boosted Calvin Klein sales by 25% across Europe). Shamefully shoddily, sideburned-racing pundit, John McCririck received 1% of the vote for his infamous antics on Celebrity BB5 in BIG white 'undies'!!

Amongst the UKs fan of skimpy thong's or Calvin Klein boxers, TENA can reveal that a massive 57% of women and men site comfort and security as the most important factor when buying their 'undies'. TENA is a firm believer in comfort & security and understands that the last thing you want to do is compromise your underwear styles if
you suffer from bladder weakness. TENA is working hard to help destigmatise bladder weakness and show women that the condition doesn't have to change their lives. Over four million people in the UK suffer from bladder weakness making it as common a condition as hayfever, however, being careful about your personal undies style will help but it won't make the condition easier to manage if you aren';t wearing the right protection. TENA has joined forces with Nicky Hambleton-Jones, style guru and author TV presenter of 'Ten Years Younger' to compile some top tips on how to tackle the condition amongst today's style conscious society.

Nicky Hambleton-Jones says, "Increasingly Britain has become a style nation where anything goes and more than ever we are concerned with 'image'. Underwear has become an extension of our daily dress and can make you feel sexy inside and out. Never underestimate how confident they can make you feel. Sexy undies are for every day not just special occasions. TENA understands peoples needs in today's society and continues to observe the changes in fashion and lifestyle. With more comfort, security and discretion available from the new and improved TENA range people who experience bladder weakness can continue to lead the way in the 'undies' style stakes!'

TENA offers a variety of bladder weakness products, which give both women and men the freedom to enjoy their daily routine without worrying about the threat of bladder weakness. The new, improved TENA Lady features the 'Dry Fast Core' offering improved security, dryness, freshness and discretion. New TENA Lady is just as thin and discreet as the leading sanitary towel, yet, it has twice the absorbency locking in wetness four times more effectively. This year will also see the launch of a revamped TENA Pants Discreet range offering women (and men) the discretion they require. Whether it is on a romantic date, at the gym or travelling TENA products are discreet and can be worn with the skimpiest of clothes so you can be sure TENA won't let you down.
