The last 20 years has seen a fair share of dance floor fashion disasters but a poll today has revealed the worst clubbing accessory ever is the dummy!

The study questioned a 1,000 people and was conducted by, an online MP3 dance download site. 30% of respondents voted dummies the biggest dance floor faux-pas for being closely associated with chavs and dodgy ravers.

Other clubbing misdemeanours included ‘MC hammer’ style trousers (15%), white gloves (should be kept for Michael Jackson impersonators only) with 12% of the vote and whistles & horns (11%).

The poll also revealed that Global Hyper-Colour t-shirts, tie-dye clothing and Vicks have not yet seen the end of their days. Surprisingly only 4% of those asked felt they were offensive – seems we may have a revival on our hands.

DJDownload founding member Guy Osborne says: “It’s been nearly 20 years since the start of the Acid House scene and all these clubbing fashions reached their pinnacle during the 90s. Because some of these accessories have survived the millennium, we at DJDownload were curious to find out which ones were considered to be the worst.”
