securetrading, the UK’s leading independent online payment service provider (PSP), has been selected alongside ParentPay as the online payment processing partner for the roll-out of a central dinner money collection service for schools and other educational establishments.

Going ‘live’ this week at Wenlock Junior School in Luton, securetrading and ParentPay provide a single place on the Internet where parents can make payments for services, products and fees to schools or child care providers securely, reliably, quickly, and simply using credit card and/or debit card in real-time. All money is credited directly into the school's or LEA’s own bank account.

The Wenlock Junior School, for boys and girls aged 7-11, roll-out is part of an ongoing plan by Luton LEA under the National e-Pay Project, funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and developed by local authority partners, to roll-out the new cashless dinner scheme to schools throughout the region.

Ferri Fassihi, General Catering Manager at Luton LEA commented, “This is the first step in the big plan to eventually have completely ‘cashless’ schools in Luton. As well as the central dinner money collection service securetrading and ParentPay will enable us to securely collect money for school trips, uniforms and any other service where parents would ordinarily part with cash.”

securetrading leads the field in online payment processing platforms thanks to its approach to the eXtreme programming methodology in concert with exceptional customer support. Founded in 1997, the company has recorded an impressive 475 per cent growth in transactions volumes in the last four years and offers customised solutions suitable for both high-volume clients to SMEs and start-ups.

David Abbott, CEO at securetrading said, “As ParentPay’s preferred payment provider we are delighted to be working on this project. It is satisfying to know that we enable parents to have peace of mind when it comes to where their children’s dinner money has been spent.”

About ParentPay
ParentPay is a unique service for schools, allowing parents to use credit or debit cards to pay for any services, products or school fees. ParentPay is very easy to use and has proven to be extremely popular with parents, teaching staff and school administrators. Any school, nursery or college can use ParentPay and it only requires a standard Internet connection to be set up. Once a school has signed up to use ParentPay each family group is allocated a unique ID. Parents then log into their own secure account pages where they see an up-to-date list of items, school trips, and other options available to their child, together with details of costs and dates. They can then choose which items to pay electronically with the transaction being conducted through a highly secure payment server. ParentPay is available twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week to process transactions in just a few seconds.

A genuine product to reduce bureaucracy, based on sound knowledge of the ways real schools work, users of ParentPay have absolute control of their money collection processes. All money is credited directly into the school's own bank account. Making use of Public Key Infrastructure, Digital Certificates and 1024 bit and 128 bit key length for asymmetric and symmetric encryption respectively ParentPay ensures the strongest level of security by any online payment collection provider. Its additional fraud detection systems help protect both schools and parents alike.
