Appointment Part of Ongoing Investment and Expansion for The Market’s First and Only Online Solution For Complete PRINCE 2 Automation

Web-based project solutions specialist, Project Progress Ltd, today announced the appointment of Nick Syson as UK Commercial Director. Syson will spearhead both direct and indirect sales of the Projectprogress™ platform, the market’s first and only online solution for complete PRINCE 2 automation, offered as a utility service on a pay-as-you-go monthly basis.

Syson brings more than 20 years commercial sales experience in the aerospace, automotive, offshore oil and gas, IT and building industries. Prior to joining Project Progress, Nick was co-founder of Vertegra, a successful IT consultancy practice specialising in the design and project management of multi-disciplinary IT systems for large fit-out projects. He was previously a consultant with CBI, an independent IT and trading systems design and project management consultancy. Throughout his career, Nick has had core responsibility for the delivery of a wide range of multi-million pound projects ranging from £2 million to £75 million. Clients have included Vodafone, EMI, Grosvenor Estates, British Aerospace, Aston Martin, Jaguar Cars and GM.

Based at the company’s London offices, Syson will report directly to Adam Smith, CEO of Project Progress, and will oversee UK sales of the Projectprogress platform with direct sales to large end user organisations, as well as indirect sales through Accredited Training Organisations for the PRINCE 2 method.

PRINCE®, which stands for Projects in Controlled Environments, is a project management method covering the organisation, management and control of projects. PRINCE was first developed by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency, now part of the Office of Government Commerce, in 1989 as a UK Government standard for IT project management. Projectprogress delivers the PRINCE 2 method online.

Unlike project management tools, the Projectprogress platform provides an online collaborative platform to ensure full compliance of PRINCE 2. This includes a real time dashboard for the management of projects with multiple participants from multiple organisations on a permissions-based access with unprecedented levels of security. These elements are essential for ensuring simultaneous, comprehensive management of large
complex projects adhered to the highest levels of compliance, auditing and security.

According to the Association of Project Managers, at the end of 2004, approximately 100,000 had taken the PRINCE 2 exam, of which 90,000 are based in the UK. This is a combined total of Practitioner and Foundation Levels. Furthermore, 20,000 people take PRINCE 2 exams
pa, which averages around 700 people per week. The Association of Project Managers has 13,500 members and 240 corporate members with more than 40 Associated Training
