Pathlore Finds Room at the (La Quinta) Inn for Training Solution

20 May 2005 – Pathlore Software Corporation, a global leader in providing Learning Management Software (LMS) and services to industry and government, has announced that La Quinta Corporation (NYSE: LQI) has selected its learning management solution to help measure the effectiveness of training across its chain of hotels. The Dallas-based company has a chain of around 600 hotels and has purchased Pathlore’s solution to offer its executives and employees a high-tech platform from which to launch, analyse and manage training over the Internet.

La Quinta will use the LMS solution as a single source for delivering and analysing training offered both online and within a classroom environment. This will provide over 9,000 corporate and field employees with access to a consistent program of training around the clock. Training will range from check-in procedures for front-desk employees, to mandated courses such as ethics or sexual harassment prevention for all employees.

By automating the logistics associated with managing employee development (i.e., registering employees for classes, tracking transcripts, evaluating instruction, etc.), training professionals save time and money. For example, with the Pathlore’s system up and running, La Quinta can buy training content in bulk and deliver much larger classes online to its workforce, instead of having a few employees attend an offsite class at a much greater cost. As a result, La Quinta’s training professionals are able to spend more time developing new programs which can improve efficiency and customer service in other areas.

US-based Hotel & Motel Management magazine recently reported that a list of the “most-frequent guest complaints” for hotels and motels everywhere hasn’t changed in almost 25 years. The article inferred that a reliance on outdated training techniques was a cause.
