BROADVISION AND WOLTERS KLUWER UK EXPANDS ONLINE MARKETING AND EMPLOYEE SELF-SERVICE PLATFORM
Simplifies resource management and prioritization for company
LONDON – 25 May 2005 – BroadVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: BVSN), a global provider of web self-service solutions , today announced that Croner Information (www.croner.co.uk) part of Wolters Kluwer (UK) Ltd, a leading provider of business information and advice for key regulated areas including HR and health and safety, is implementing its software solutions to help expand revenue through online marketing and employee self-services.
Croner Information publishes over 250 information packages and solutions to support UK companies, professionals and organizations, enabling them to adhere to the relevant regulations and compliance standards in various areas of business, industry and commerce. These areas include Human Resources, Health and Safety, Finance, Trade, Transport and Education. Having the ability to easily publish and edit content for customers online makes the management of these efforts highly productive.
Croner Information had been expanding its online information services and products to customers for a number of years and decided in late 2004 that it needed to increase its online marketing to help promote these enhancements to new and existing customers. It also wanted to increase the ease with which its growing number of editorial staff could directly access published material online for editing or publication. Croner Information was an existing customer of BroadVision, though that did not guarantee Croner Information would build these enhancements on the BroadVision Commerce platform.
After careful consideration, Croner Information decided to expand its use of the BroadVision e-commerce platform to meet their business objectives.
Simon Powell, Senior Platform Manager at Croner Information, stated, “Like many IT departments, resource management and prioritisation of resources is a daily challenge for us. With increased demands from our editorial staff to publish, to gain immediate access to information, as well as a push from the business to increase the functionality of our website to support more online marketing, we knew we needed a solution that would allow direct employee self-service and take IT out of the loop to provide more focused support where it was needed.
“As an existing BroadVision customer, its e-commerce technology was proven to us and we have been very impressed with the support and help received to date. Given this, BroadVision was the obvious choice to meet the increasing needs of our internal business customers for greater access and functionality of our e-commerce platform,” he concludes. Croner Information expects to see its increased use of BroadVision play a key role in the expansion and revenue from its online business in 2005.
“BroadVision is at the heart of helping companies and organisations provide online self-service and personalisation to employees, suppliers and partners. Croner Information is typical of the kind of organisation that is increasing its revenue through online sales and requires the kind of solution that BroadVision specialises in to meet these opportunities head on,” stated Ceri Hyett, Vice President and GM of Northern Europe for BroadVision.
