Balmoral Group Ltd, a long time supplier to the processing and chemical industries, has helped an Abingdon-based company upgrade its silicone storage capability in a very cost effective manner.

Basildon Chemicals recently installed two green Balmoral C35000 chemical storage tanks to contain its silicone stocks. The company provides the beauty and personal care industries with cosmetics and related products.

According to Basildon Chemicals engineer, Jerome Ganachaud, the tanks provided by Balmoral suited his requirements in every way. He said: “The one-piece rotomoulded tanks are ideal for us. We found ourselves in the situation where our old IBC’s had seen better days and the cost benefits brought to the market by rotomoulded products meant that we could replace our old tanks without ‘breaking the bank’.”

Gary Ward of Balmoral Chemical Tanks explained: “These PE tanks provide seamless storage and are very robust. They are tougher than GRP tanks and often provide higher levels of chemical resistance than stainless steel products at very competitive rates.”

500-75,000 litre storage
Balmoral Chemical Tanks brings more than 20 years’ experience of specialised liquid storage to the industry. Part of global energy, environmental engineering and tanks manufacturing company, Balmoral Group Ltd, the company’s chemical tank division introduced a wide range of storage tanks towards the end of 2003.

Ranging from 500-75,000 litre single-skinned tanks, through to bunded tanks in capacities of 500-48,000 litres, Balmoral provides the widest range of chemical storage products in the industry today.

Targeting the processing, food processing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, chairman and managing director of Balmoral Group, Dr James Milne, said: “There are many types of chemical storage products available to today’s specifiers, but none that offer the advantages of our rotationally moulded, one piece tanks.

“The wide ranging benefits of seamless tanks have long been appreciated in Europe and the USA, however, these tanks haven’t been commercially viable in the UK, until now. The potential for improved safety and cost savings with these tanks is considerable”, Milne concluded.
