London, UK, June 8th 2005 - Five of the world’s SOA visionaries, AmberPoint, Parasoft, Reactivity, Systinet and ThoughtWorks have joined forces to create the SOA Leaders Council. This is a collaborative community where IT Executives, CIO’s and Architects planning, designing and implementing Service Oriented Architectures at large enterprises can share their experiences and expertise to both enrich and learn from their peers. According to leading analyst firm Gartner, by 2009, service-oriented development of applications (SODA) will be the dominant way to develop software, in use in more than 80 percent of new application projects*.
Today the SOA Leaders Council is announcing the inaugural European event on June 22nd in Central London. Moderated by featured Gartner VP Distinguished Analyst, Massimo Pezzini, this forum enables IT Executives sharing their experiences building the business case for, and subsequent implementation of SOA.
The SOA Leaders Council, was founded in 2004 and meets regularly in Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, New York and Washington, DC with over 300 active participants known as ‘SOA Leaders’ – key experts drawn from a number of leading companies. It has been created specifically to address the needs of technology executives, particularly those that have a strategic commitment to SOA and practical responsibilities for making Service Orientated Architectures generate real results for their enterprise.
The first European event includes featured presentations from Gartner’s Massimo Pezzini and Jim Crookes, Director, Platform Design and Build, BT, followed by discussion on best practises to build a compelling business case for SOA implementation. This event is designed to offer end users a chance to meet, share best practice and explore topics, trends and issues within SOA.
Membership of SOA Leaders is free and limited to individuals who meet the membership criteria – end-user architect level or higher planning or implementing SOA. Qualified parties can apply for membership by completing an application form on the SOA Leaders web site at www.SOALeaders.org. Applications will be considered and replied to by the existing council members.
