Sapient’s agile-based approach allowed Be to meet its goals and complete the solution in only five months

London, October 3, 2005 – Sapient, a business innovator, today announced it has helped Be, the UK’s new ultra high-speed broadband internet service provider (ISP), launch the UK’s first ever 24-meg broadband internet service. By using its agile-based, iterative approach, Sapient was able to build the entire solution in just five months, including design and development of all IT systems required to run the new web-based business.

Sapient designed the platform to automate every customer-facing process in order to ensure the highest customer satisfaction levels for Be. The solution features a consumer-facing, self-serve website, where customers can place orders and manage their own accounts; an internal customer service agent application with a full customer database and trouble-ticketing functionality; core order management and billing engines and a provisioning mechanism with an interface into the relevant BT systems.

“We needed a trusted partner who could quickly understand our business and deliver an effective, innovative solution, as well as value for money,” said Dana Pressman, managing director of Be. “Because our website is integral to every part of our business, the online infrastructure has to be rock solid. Sapient delivered on its promises, proving its unrelenting commitment to our success and operating as a real part of our team. Its speed of execution was also second to none.”

Sapient’s ability to deliver complex, business-critical projects on time and on budget is popular with clients that are intent on managing their budget and resources. To better understand Be’s overall business objectives, Sapient ran a three-week ‘Fusion’ workshop process with Be’s key stakeholders. Sapient’s Fusions are designed to help clients gain alignment around specific business goals, requirements and timelines in an accelerated workshop environment.

“We are excited to be helping Be pioneer 24-meg broadband internet services in the UK,” says Mike Reid, managing director of Sapient UK. “Sapient is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that help our clients achieve business success, and Be is a perfect example of this as it drives the next telecoms revolution in the UK.”
