 Schneider & Koch Sells Business Units to Landis Distribution

Ettlingen, February 05, 1999 - The German manufacturer Schneider & Koch & Co. Datensysteme GmbH today announced that the business units 'SK Distribution', 'SK Bildungszentrum' and 'SK-Do-IT', have been acquired by the Dutch distributor, Landis. SysKonnect, the leading manufacturer of high-end server network interface cards (NICs), the fourth business unit, will remain under the parent organisation Schneider & Koch & Co. Datensysteme GmbH, with a majority holding by the Quante Group based in Wuppertal, Germany.

"The current market situation requires new distribution structures and increased investments. With the purchase of the business units 'SK Distribution' (distribution), 'SK Bildungszentrum' (training) and 'SK-Do-IT' (consultancy), the distributor Landis has completed its product range. This represents a positive development for all three business units as Landis has the relevant expertise in their areas and will thus aim for an active growth of all three business units," explained Bernd Koch, co-founder and managing director of Schneider & Koch & Co. Datensysteme GmbH. "Meanwhile, SysKonnect, as a developer and producer of server connectivity products, looks forward to a successful cooperation with the European distributor Landis on a national and international level."

SysKonnect, under the helm of its managing director, Bernd Koch, will now concentrate solely on the manufacturing of active network components. "It is the Company's objective to continue providing server connectivity of the highest standard. As a transposing technology - besides the traditional commitment to FDDI - SysKonnect has a clear business focus on Gigabit Ethernet," he explained. SysKonnect is rated amongst the industry leaders in providing fast and reliable server connectivity products. The SK-NET GE product line, a series of Gigabit Ethernet server adapters, which was introduced end of 1998, has already set new standards. Predestined for use in high-end servers and for managing crucial business data, these innovative server adapters established themselves in the market shortly after their launch.
