Marc de Jong Luneau and Arie de Groot Join to Support Market Growth Expectations

SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS, FRANCE, November 28, 2005 – Fortinet – the pioneer and market leader in Unified Threat Management and only provider of ASIC-accelerated, network-based multi-threat security systems for real-time network protection – today announced the appointment of Marc de Jong Luneau in the role of EMEA Marketing Director and Arie de Groot as EMEA Operations Director. The move comes as part of Fortinet’s continuing strategy to maintain its high level of sustained growth both in the European region and globally on the back of a highly profitable third quarter. De Jong Luneau is a security industry veteran with over 12 years experience, and will take responsibility for all marketing-related activities for Fortinet in EMEA; whilst De Groot, with equal experience in the IT sector, will take care of managing operations throughout the region.

Marc de Jong Luneau has been active in the network security field since 1993, and boasts an impressive record of success. He joins from Kahuna Group, a leading Dutch MSSP, where he was Director of Product Development, Marketing and Business Development. As such he made a clear mark on the company’s portfolio, positioning and image - taking the organisation to overwhelming sales success in the Dutch market. Prior to his role at Kahuna, he founded the security division of Syntegra Netherlands.

“I’m very excited to join Fortinet at this time and look forward to contributing to the continued success of the company. In the next 24 months, Fortinet will be taking substantial market share from a number of household names in this industry with its broadest set of best-of-breed proprietary functionality, fastest performance and greatest number of independent certifications,” said Marc de Jong Luneau.

Arie de Groot has a distinguished entrepreneurial track record having founded a cluster of insurance and software companies in the Netherlands and co-founded the first Dutch ASP (application service provider) XB. Prior to joining Fortinet, de Groot was Managing Director at Pharmaccess, a foundation specialising in setting up managed medical programs for multi-national corporations in less economically developed countries.

“I feel privileged to join Fortinet at such a busy and exciting time. In this new venture I’ll be providing support to all the functions of our business across EMEA. This support will be vital to our growing sales channel as we work to build visibility and understanding of our brand, and carry on providing the best anti-threat solutions and services available,” said Arie de Groot.

“Marc and Arie are valuable additions to our team and I’ll be working closely with them both as we aim to meet our ambitious sales targets for the future,” said Andre Stewart, Vice President EMEA for Fortinet. “During Q3 we shipped more than 21,000 units to customers throughout the world and we hope to exceed these figures in the fourth quarter.”
