- PDA-based application project allows magazine distributor to understand activity at store level

Milton Keynes, England – 29 November 2005 – Frontline, the UK's leading magazine sales, marketing and distribution company, has implemented an advanced mobile solution to enhance its field sales service offering. The company, which represents over thirty percent value share of all consumer magazines in the UK, has implemented a PDA-based solution from O4 Corporation Limited. Project cost savings exceeding £100,000 are expected to be delivered within three years.

Frontline's field sales team are using the new application whilst visiting UK retail customers. The Qtek 2020i PDA's they use hold information collected from each store in support of the category partnerships Frontline has with a select number of retail multiple groups. The application also provides call planning, territory management and detailed activity analysis.
The O4 Field Operations Solution means in-store management disciplines are met by ensuring compliance to head-office agreed; range (the right mix of magazines on the shelves), planograms (the correct flow and adjacencies of magazine categories) and trade marketing activity.

Field sales personnel are using the O4 solution to assess each store, capturing relevant information including photographs of shelves. The information is then transferred to head office through wireless synchronisation.
