Irish network monitoring software vendor ramps up transatlantic business with appointment of Bruce Pipes, ex-Network General MD, Asia Pacific, as Crannog’s VP Sales & Operations - North America

DUBLIN and LONDON, February 21st, 2005 – Crannog Software, the fast-rising vendor of network optimisation software, today forecasts significant growth in the north American network monitoring market and is backing up its assertion with the appointment of a VP Sales & Operations - North America. Bruce Pipes joins Crannog from Network General, itself a leading provider of application and network performance solutions, where he was MD Asia Pacific.

“Everything we’re hearing from analysts and our own contacts in the industry tells us that 2006 is going to be extremely busy in the network monitoring sector,” observed Crannog Software’s Chief Operations Officer, Philip Harragan. He continued: “We’ve already established a bridgehead in the USA and Canada with a growing sales team managed from Europe, now we need to be ready for the anticipated growth in business by putting our own VP on the ground, and I can’t think of anyone better suited to the opportunities and challenges the north American market presents us, than Bruce Pipes.”

Crannog Software’s Chief Technology Officer, Mike McGrath, added: “We are also about to up the game world-wide with a raft of new products and major enhancements to existing products, to ensure we maintain and build on our technology lead. 2006 is definitely going to be a big year for Crannog.”

Pipes has over 25 years experience in enterprise software, hardware, and telecommunications. He has held sales and executive management roles in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific / Japan. Prior to joining Network General, Pipes held various sales and executive management positions with McAfee/Network Associates in Europe and Asia Pacific regions, where he led the transition from point solution vendor to enterprise solution provider. During his 6 year tenure at McAfee/Network Associates, Pipes significantly increased year-on-year Sniffer flagship solution sales, as well as launching the McAfee Intrusion Prevention System sales team in Europe. His sales responsibilities also included Antivirus, Gauntlet, PGP, and CRM, through both direct and channel partner sales.
