LONDON – 21 March 2006 – D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, today announces the launch of two next generation Layer2+ Gigabit switches that offer SMB’s and enterprises unparalleled performance, flexibility, security and multi-layer Quality of Service (QoS).

The xStack DGS-3400 series offers high Gigabit port densities for desktop connections, SDP fibre connectivity, 10-Gigabit Ethernet uplink options and enhances Layer2+ functions. The switches comprise the workgroup access-layer stack for seamless integration with L3 core switches to form part of a multi-level network structured with high-speed backbone and centralised servers.

The DGS-3400 family features models with 24 and 48 Gigabit ports respectively, offering advanced core features including,

- 4 Combo SFP Fibre Gigabit ports
- Up to 3 open slots for optional 10-Gigabit Ethernet uplinks
- Virtual stacking of up to 32 units or physical high speed stacking
- IPv6 Ready (IPv6 Access Control List, IPv6 Class of Service)
- Enhanced Layer2+ offering more than Layer2 functionality
- L2/L3/L4 Multi-layer Access Control List and QoS
- Advanced security such as TACACS+, MAC-IP binding
- Extensive VLAN support including GARP/GVRP
- Traffic segmentation and bandwidth control down to 64Kbps granularity

As with all our xStack switches, the DGS-3400 models support Zone Defense, D-Link’s unique proactive network security feature and come with our business class service and support suite.
