The patented Mako system is designed to protect broadband users from the risks and costs often associated with “always-on” broadband connections. Mako manages the users networks centrally, delivering powerful and cost-effective proactive network security and user policy monitoring and enforcement together with sophisticated reporting and management of any end-point.
The Mako Networks system utilises a centrally managed hardware and software solution to deliver a 24/7, managed and continually updated network management solution that enables enterprises to monitor, and secure their data across multiple broadband network types and connections. The globally deployed, centrally managed Mako service interacts with a Mako device installed on the end-user's broadband connection, continually monitoring network activity and updating firewall and security definitions in order to meet evolving threats.
5th Mountain Networks approved Mako service providers can adjust their client’s configuration settings and easily deploy secure VPNs. End-users can access real-time information regarding usage and intrusion attempts.
Gerry Swart, Managing Director of 5th Mountain Networks said: “5th Mountain Networks is delighted to join Mako Networks in delivering cost-effective network solutions. We see a great demand for Mako Networks solutions which offer enterprise class management solutions on broadband connections. Sophisticated network management is the key to optimising information availability and security – that’s what the Mako System provides to our customers.
