transtec’s new dual-processor 12” LEVIO power notebook wins Intel’s “most innovative mobile solution” award

Banbury, 18th April, 2006 – Transtec Computers Limited, a subsidiary of Tübingen, Germany based transtec AG, a leading manufacturer of custom-tailored IT solutions, have added two new models to its LEVIO notebook series, the LEVIO 210, the lightest and smallest of transtec’s notebooks, and its big brother, the LEVIO 550.

Weighing only 1.95 kg, the slim LEVIO 210 packs dual-processor power for parallel execution of CPU-intensive applications. Immediately after its announcement at the Cebit IT exhibition transtec’s new power notebook was awarded “the most innovative mobile solution” award by Intel at its Summit in Rhodes.

“The 12’’ wide-screen display, the standard full-size keyboard, its weight and its power makes mobile work a pleasure”, said transtec CEO Ertu Uysal, after the award event.

Intel Centrino Duo Mobile technology gives the LEVIO 210 a 70% performance edge over single-core processors and, since the core frequency is dynamically adjusted to match workloads, a 28-percent reduction in power consumption resulting in longer battery run time which will be much appreciated by mobile users.

The LEVIO 210 will be available at the beginning of April in ivory or black livery.

Although equipped with a 15.4’’ wide-screen display and an integrated VGA camera for face-to-face video conferencing, the dual-core LEVIO 550 weighs a mere 2.8 kg.

Combined with a fast WLAN interface, the LEVIO 550’s VoIP feature allows fast easy access from any location. The LEVIO 550 can be ordered as of the 1st of April.

Compact PCs combining power and elegant design

Transtec’s small-sized offerings are rounded out by compact yet powerful PCs.

For example, with dimensions of only 92 x 310 x 400 mm (H x W x D) and a choice of vertical or horizontal operation and easily accessible connections, the transtec SENYO 500 PC can be used almost anywhere.

With its eye-catching red/silver design the SENYO 500 PC cuts a good figure in any office, making it ideal for use in public areas.
Despite its small size, the uncompromising performance of the SENYO 500 makes it as powerful as any desktop PC.

It was designed for easy network integration and is ideal for networked office applications, for example, in banks, insurance agencies and government agencies. For up to date prices contact Transtec UK.
