BANGKOK, Thailand -- Nortel Networks* [NYSE: NT/TES: NTL]
has signed a US$96 million contract with Digital Phone Co.
Ltd. (DPC), a subsidiary of Samart Corporation, for GSM 1800
digital PCS and Intelligent Network (IN) equipment and
services. The equipment and services will be used for
expansion of DPC's wireless network in Bangkok, Thailand.

With Nortel Networks' ServiceBuilder* IN platform for GSM,
DPC will be able to boost the return on its network
investment and deliver maximum convenience for subscribers.
It is anticipated that the network roll out will be
completed by the end of this year.
