*New system to bring enhanced HR information, driving business efficiencies*

London, UK, 30th May 2006 – To ensure more efficient and consistent processes, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has selected Midland HR’s best of breed HR and payroll software, Trent. The deal will see the software provider supply an integrated payroll and HR system for the council’s staff across the borough.

With a growing need to deliver better strategic HR information to managers, the borough required a system with enough functionality to effectively provide readily available data. In addition, the new solution had to fit in with the council’s longer term plans for self-service for all staff as well as offering integrated HR and payroll. Above all, the borough needed to be confident that the chosen system would be efficient and user-friendly.

Carol Naismith, Head of HR at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead comments: “Central to our vision for the continuing development of human resources is the ability to provide senior management with user-friendly, timely information to help them power business efficiencies throughout the borough. By implementing self-service we can also free up valuable time within the HR department, allowing us to focus on more strategic tasks. For example, to concentrate on recruiting the highest calibre staff, something with which we anticipate this new system will help.”

Implementing Trent will enable the borough to offer all staff self-service functions such as booking holiday and training online. In addition, processes will be more efficient and streamlined and tasks will be fully automated using the workflow function.

The project is due to go live in four main phases, HR in summer 2006, recruitment in Autumn 2006, payroll in Spring 2007 and self service in Autumn 2007.
