AXS-One Inc. (AMEX: AXO), a leading provider of high performance records compliance management solutions, today announced that it is expanding the functionality of its e-Delivery Service to include European travel agents and tour operators. The AXS-One e-Delivery Service reduces operational costs for the travel industry by transforming paper-based invoicing processes to electronic invoicing systems. This latest development also marks a pivotal step in AXS-One’s strategic growth plans to generate further revenue streams in new markets.
Since its UK launch last year, the AXS-One e-Delivery Service, authorised by the CAA and ABTA, has become the industry standard for electronic invoicing and documentation delivery. Today more than 68 per cent of the UK’s travel industry has adopted the AXS-One Service including over 4,800 travel agent offices and the majority of leading tour operators. The Service, provided free of charge to travel agents, allows them to electronically receive and forward on holiday documentation to their customers instantaneously at the point of sale, which produces significant savings both in time and material costs.
The Service’s considerable success, coupled with demand from the UK’s four largest tour operators to broaden its access, has accelerated AXS-One’s plans to enhance the system’s functionality so it can be used by non-UK agents – enabling the e-Delivery service to communicate with travel agents in any European country.
AXS-One found that a new tagging system, which issues a unique account/ID number to identify non-UK travel agents was required to expand the service into European countries. The new method of generating and supporting user names and passwords via the upgraded technology opens up a huge gateway for agents and operators to receive and exchange documents Europe-wide. The Service is also being expanded to include the e-delivery of pre-departure documentation. Strategically, the timing of the decision to expand its activities into Europe, not only outpaces its competition, but also satisfies the industry's demand for a robust technology solution that improves service levels and ultimately the customer experience.
