While flexible working is being embraced by more British businesses than ever before, telecoms providers have so far failed to offer a comprehensive service to meet the needs of the UK’s 4.1m regular teleworkers.

Voice4IP, a subsidiary of the leading network distributor and broadband wholesaler NetServices plc, today addressed this market requirement by launching ‘Remote Worker’, a solution that gives home telephones all the functionality of a modern corporate telecoms system.

But Remote Worker not only provides all the features you would expect of a business phone system, it also gives businesses the ability to accurately control the costs of teleworking, for the first time.

“Many employees select their own broadband and expense it,” said Phil Wedgwood, managing director, Voice4IP. “They use a mixture of mobile and their own fixed line for remote communication, which does not duplicate the office environment - and makes it almost impossible for businesses to control the costs of teleworking.

“Remote Worker provides a single package including all the voice and data elements the teleworker requires to work effectively wherever they may be.”

Voice4IP’s Remote Worker is a complete home worker package. It includes up to 8Mb broadband, based on BT DSL MAX to maximise the online and VPN capabilities, a business conferencing system, voicemail as standard - with messages sent to email for easy storage and retrieval - and the option to bundle in inclusive calls.

Each worker is allocated a non-geographical number and the system works via the use of Voice4IP’s Remote Worker Web portal. No special equipment is needed, and there isn’t need to port numbers or change operator.

“Remote Worker is the ultimate in simplicity for controlling costs,” added Wedgwood. “Businesses will be able to have all their voice and data calls from supplier with one bill giving detailed management information.”
