LONDON, 8 August 2006: The outstanding finalists for the European Call Centre Awards have just been announced recognising the best of the best in Europe’s contact centre industry. The annual awards ceremony, organised by CCF Magazine - the UK’s no. 1 customer contact title – has become the most prestigious event on the industry’s social calendar. The European Call Centre Awards takes place alongside Call Centre Expo on 3 October 2006 at Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole.

The European Call Centre Awards – sponsored by Garlands Call Centres - salutes the excellent and innovative work done within the customer contact community though out Europe. The impressive shortlist recognises both industry and individual achievement and contribution in such categories as Best Use of Technology within a Contact Centre, Best Contact Centre Culture, Team Leader of the Year, Best Global Strategy and, of course, European Call Centre of the Year. First Direct is leading the field with ten nominations, while Lloyds, Sitel, Carphone Warehouse, LEGO and AXA Lite all received multiple nominations.

“The awards are a real boost for the industry,” explains Claudia Hathway, editor of CCF. “An independent panel of judges worked through a record number of impressive entries. Each shortlisted centre will be personally visited and evaluated by members of the judging panel, giving the awards programme an integrity and professionalism that CCF is proud to be a part of.”

The European Call Centre Awards is the most prestigious night out of the call centre social calendar, the back-tie affair will be more exclusive than ever as numbers are limited this year to just 1300. A top comedian will compere the fun-filled evening while music and dancing will go on late into the night.
