London, UK – August 16th , 2006 – 7global, the Managed Services Company (www.7global.com) has today announced that Scotia Plastic Binding UK, a specialist manufacturer and distributor of presentation and document binding products, has selected 7global to oversee and manage its business migration from the 2012 Olympic Zone to Dartford where its new offices are located.
7global has provided IT Solutions to Scotia Plastic Binding for over three years. So when the Scotia management team embarked on a project to re-locate its offices, network infrastructure and business critical applications from the London 2012 Olympic Zone to Dartford, they called on 7global to design and execute the plan that would underpin their migration.
The 6th of July 2006 marked another milestone in the Olympic project as the first year anniversary of the International Olympic Committee's decision to confirm London as the host city for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The London Development Agency is working tirelessly to realise the promises made in the bid which includes identifying relocation sites for businesses and residents within the Park zone. Scotia pb is one of those businesses.
Chris Buckingham is Finance Director at Scotia pb and comments, “This move was a major undertaking for us and it was critical for the smooth running of our operation that it went without a hitch. 7global worked as an extension of the company, defined what was needed and a time plan for delivery. I can honestly say that it couldn’t have gone better.”
Scotia operates across three locations; its company warehouse is based in London, Troon in Scotland is the telesales hub and Bournemouth houses the website part of the business. 7global’s role was to deliver an “end to end” Managed Solution using Cisco technology to connect and secure these 3 geographically dispersed offices for business critical applications; migrate the office Local Area Network and redesign the Wide Area Network. Alongside the connectivity solution 7global also provided Network Security including managed firewalls, content security, anti-virus and email services.
“This worked as a partnership in the truest sense,” added Chris. “7global took full responsibility for the design, planning and delivery and they surpassed our expectations on every aspect. The migration was truly seamless and the support and handholding has continued through to the post migration phase. The 7global team demonstrated great confidence and expertise and this underpinned the project throughout. We are now firmly set up in our new offices and it was a very painless exercise, thanks to 7global.”
Group Sales Director for 7global, Lynne Jones said, “Our approach is about much more than providing an IT solution. Instead we concern ourselves with making sure the underlying needs and imperatives of the business are understood and addressed and then we map and tailor a unique solutions set precisely to those business need.” Lynne continues, “The Scotia experience is an endorsement of this approach and we are delighted to welcome them to a growing list of companies who rely on 7global to manage their technology while they get on with running their businesses.”
