TSANet Manages Hub Of Technical Innovation
At SNW Europe 2006 (4th – 6th September), Congress Center, Messe Frankfurt
London, UK – 15 August 2006 – TSANet Europe is pleased to announce that it will be managing the Solutions Center at this year’s SNW Europe conference in association with SNIA Europe. The SNW Europe Solution Center, situated in Hall Harmonie on level C2, is designed to enable multi-vendor systems and solutions to be demonstrated in a real-world networked storage environment.
Viewed as a cornerstone of the conference, the Solutions Center is the closest delegates can come to experiencing their own type of IT environment and is seen by many as a key reason to attend the event. The Center presents a unique opportunity for vendors to work together to demonstrate fully integrated storage solutions. Visitors can discover how SNIA-ratified technologies, standards and specifications can improve interoperability and deliver common foundations to enable vendor choice.
Colin Hughes, Chairman of TSANet Europe comments: “The storage industry extends across a vast array of technologies and no one vendor covers all the bases or supplies the ‘whole’ product. It is very hard therefore for customers to see technical applications in action with competitive vendors collaborating together to support the end solution. We believe the SNW Europe Solutions Center provides a one-off chance for visitors to ‘get under the skin’ of multi-vendor technical solutions in a very hands-on and practical way.”
SNIA Europe is delighted to be working with TSANet Europe on the technical content of this years' Solutions Center where TSANet’s expertise and association with the industry will bring strong benefits to bear.
Paul Talbut, Chairman of SNIA Europe comments: “We joined forces with TSANet Europe earlier in the year and this is the first opportunity for the two not-for-profit membership organisations to work together. Today’s business climate is one of rapid change. As a consequence, storage technologies are becoming more and more sophisticated. With this comes added complexity and hence for many customers the buying choices are simply a minefield. Being able to demonstrate a ‘real-world’ multi-vendor environment helps to inform, educate and guide users towards sound purchasing decisions and solutions that are right for their business.”
There are three key themes for the SNW Europe Solutions Center:
• Data management - Including ILM (Information Life Cycle Management) and data protection
• Storage management - SMI-S (Storage Management Initiative Specification)
• Infrastructure - Includes Fibre Channel, IP Storage, extended SANs and WAFs (Wide Area File Systems).
The vendors participating in the SNW Europe Solutions Center include: HDS, HP, Plasmon, Sun, ADIC, Brocade, EMC, Ciena, HMK, LSI Logic, McDATA, Nortel to name but a few.
In May 2006 TSANet Europe and SNIA Europe announced that they had joined forces and formed an alliance to simplify storage management by strengthening end user technical support. The support that TSANet is providing SNIA Europe at the SNW Europe conference is the first of many planned activities as this alliance begins to grow and flourish.
‘Making storage networks much easier to deploy and manage is a mutual objective for both TSANet and SNIA Europe because technology applications in a ‘live’ environment are never as smooth as they are on paper or in a lab,’ said Colin Hughes, Chairman of TSANet Europe. ‘TSANet plays a leading role in the customer support side of this objective by allowing vendors to work together in a neutral setting where finger-pointing is put aside in favour of end users’ needs’.
End user delegates can register for free at www.snweurope.com.
