Prompt Communications creates successful launch event for etribes at BT Tower

Event to launch the UK’s ‘grown-up rival to MySpace’ was attended by 21 influential journalists, including representatives of four national broadcasters and eight consumer lifestyle magazines

London, United Kingdom, 16th August 2006 – Prompt Communications was chosen by etribes, a subsidiary of communications technology company Midentity, to launch its online personal publishing and photo-sharing service for adults who are too busy to ‘blog’. Prompt has now completed a successful launch campaign that culminated in a well-attended event at the top of the BT Tower.

etribes (www.etribes.com) was designed by Internet entrepreneurs Simon Grice and Luke Brynley-Jones to fill a gap in the market for personal publishing. etribes is for adults with busy social lives who do not want the hassle and technical challenge of maintaining a blog, but want to share news and photos easily with friends and family as well as back-up important personal data such as contacts and documents in a secure location that is accessible from anywhere.

Prompt was appointed in mid-June to coordinate the PR aspects of the launch event at the prestigious BT Tower in central London on 19 July.

Prompt conducted a media outreach campaign leading up to and following the event, identifying target publications, calling journalists to invite them to attend the event, and providing any required supporting information. As a result, coverage was secured across a range of newspaper, consumer magazine, broadcast and technology media. Consumer magazines represented at the launch included a current affairs magazine, a bridal magazine, a DVD publication, a motoring magazine, a business publication, two national newspapers and a photography title. Four broadcast stations were also represented.

Prompt researched and wrote several user case studies, illustrating how existing etribes customers are maintaining their online presence. These showcased different activities that etribes has identified for use of the ‘life-sites’, such as weddings, family life, hobbies, business and entertainment. Prompt also designed a series of adverts and fliers to help reinforce etribes’ brand values, messaging and iconography. This design was carried through to press packs, press releases and on-site branding at the BT Tower. The press packs were tailored for press, investor, business partner and guest invitees.
