-Strategic Partnership offers customers a full-house for test performance-

London, 30th November, 2006, — Itheon Networks, the networked application performance monitoring and testing specialists, announced today that it has established a strategic partnership with Facilita, the leading UK-based supplier of IT performance and load testing solutions. This alliance enables Itheon Networks to enhance its existing network emulation solution, which helps organisations to conduct pre-deployment application performance testing in realistic network environments, by additionally offering its customers affordable yet comprehensive load testing functionality.

Itheon’s Network Emulator (INE) - enables software testers to recreate authentic network environments e.g. LAN, WAN, WLAN, GPRS, 3G, Satellite, MPLS, Routed etc., for testing applications, including VoIP, in the test rig or lab. Adjustments can be made to network characteristics such as bandwidth, latency, jitter, and packet error/loss in order to test software in the conditions that will be encountered in a live production network, or in a proposed new network environment. Put simply, it adds realism to the software testing process.

Facilita’s Forecast - is a powerful and flexible application performance testing toolset that easily and accurately tests the performance and scalability of applications and systems. Its rich functionality enables users to create tests that are truly representative of the complexity of real-life. By simulating hundreds to thousands of concurrent users Forecast, helps you test the performance of an application end-to-end, applying consistent, measurable and repeatable loads.

“Now, by being able to offer Facilita’s comprehensive load testing solution, we can not only provide the realistic network conditions but also the realistic load and stresses the new application will be subject to when it goes live”, comments Frank Puranik, Head of Itheon Networks. “With our shared common objective of de-risking the application rollout process, we see the combination of Facilita’s load testing solution and Itheon Networks WAN emulation technology as a natural fit adding a further layer of realism to the whole software testing process.

“Our comprehensive IT performance engineering approach is entirely complementary with Itheon Networks’ portfolio of networked application performance monitoring and testing solutions, and we look forward to working with them as they extend their offering with our proven capabilities,” added Facilita’s Managing Director, Peter Greenwood: “Unlike other testing vendors, we back our performance engineering solutions with both technology and consultancy professional services, so we’re ideally placed to help Itheon Networks and their customers get the results they need from their investment in performance management.”
