Patents provide scalable solutions to manage and control various network devices for complex and dynamic IP networks
MENLO PARK, Calif. – January 30, 2007 – Intelliden, a leading provider of Intelligent Networking solutions that enable organizations to control, manage and scale their networks, has been issued two additional U.S. patents. The first is for its "system and method for configuring a network device,” and the second is for a “network configuration manager”. The patents disclose core technologies within its flagship R-Series® platform that simplify the control and management of the largest and most demanding networks in the world.
Complex Network Environments Require Intelliden Technology
As organizations speed the migration to converged internet protocol (IP) networks, the rapid growth of the size and complexity of the networks has outpaced the deployment of necessary network software management solutions. Manual and script-based methods to configure and manage the network cannot scale to meet the requirements of large, complex and dynamic IP networks.
"Having managed one of the largest and most complex service provider networks in the world during the 1990s, we discovered first-hand that manual, undocumented or ad hoc methods used to configure thousands of network devices were inadequate given the dynamic nature of the network environment”, said Glen Tindal, founder and CTO of Intelliden. “Intelliden solutions embody the essential quantum leap in technology needed to keep pace with the rapid growth of traffic and deployment of new services over IP networks. The granting of these patents validates our technology leadership and provides a future-proof platform for our customers.”
About the Patents:
Patent 6,978,301 describes a system and method for communicating with network devices without regard to the device type and/or manufacturer and a global graphical user interface (GUI) for communicating with various network devices.
The second Patent 7,150,037 describes an automated solution for configuring and managing the configuration of the Internet infrastructure. Operations personnel can quickly execute system-wide changes that would take weeks or months using manual-configuration practices. The patent also discloses a system and method that enables device configuration changes to be detected under program control.
Intelliden has assembled a high degree of networking experience and knowledge. This collective experience has led to over 30 granted and pending patents filed worldwide. From its founding, the company has devoted considerable resources to its ongoing commitment to developing Intellectual Property. The issued patents and patents pending are a reflection and foundation to that commitment.
