Birmingham Based Grosvenor Health Limited (Grosvenor), one of the UK's leading providers of occupational health services, announces that it has successfully completed the acquisition of Glasgow based Health Sure UK Limited (HS). Grosvenor will fund the acquisition through a combination of existing cash resources and funding provided by Close Ventures and Bestport Ventures.

Grosvenor is established as a leader in providing professional, integrated services and solutions to help businesses develop and improve their corporate healthcare strategy. The business completed a successful management buy out from Capio Healthcare UK Limited in March 2004. Grosvenor provides services to over 300 clients ranging from 5 to 80,000 employees representing a broad range of industry sectors including: Automotive, Brewing, Defence, Emergency Services, Financial Services, Government Agencies, IT, NHS Trusts, Retail, Unions and Utility Companies.

It has built an enviable blue chip client base offering services to large companies who prefer to contract out to specialist providers rather than build their own infrastructure to deliver these services. The services, offered to customers on a contract basis typically lasting between three to five years, cover: pre-employment fitness for work assessments; on-site health surveillance (including general health screening and workplace assessments); sickness absence and rehabilitation management; pensions and insurance adjudication.

Health Sure UK Ltd (HS) was formed in 1990 by Dr Charles Freer in Glasgow, since when the company has developed a reputation for service and quality. The business has grown steadily to the point where it is now the leading independent health screening provider in the UK. Its clients include FTES 100 companies in the retail, telecommunication and banking sectors, along with other private and public sector organisations. The services provided in addition to health screening include occupational health, absence management and rehabilitation. The management team, led by Dr Freer and Managing Director James Brannan, remain in place and see strong development opportunities for their wellness based services.
