As Momentum for SugarCRM Grows In Germany, France, Netherlands, UK and Ireland

DUBLIN, Ireland (March 5, 2007), SugarCRM Inc. the world's leading provider of commercial open source customer relationship management (CRM) software, today announced the opening of Sugar Europe located in Dublin. Based on growing demand across Europe, the new office will foster close relationships with SugarCRM’s customers, partners and user communities across the continent. Clint Oram, a co-founder of SugarCRM, will serve as General Manager of Sugar Europe and will lead the European team from Dublin, Ireland.

Growing Open Source Demand in Europe

Over the last three years, SugarCRM has seen widespread adoption across Europe with its strongest growth in France, Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Currently, about one-quarter of SugarCRM’s commercial customers are located in Europe and more than 30 percent of Sugar Open Source downloads take place in Europe.

“The establishment of Sugar Europe signifies the importance of Europe as a key driver in the success of our commercial open source model,” said Clint Oram, co-founder and general manager of Sugar Europe. “Our strong partner base throughout Europe, the advanced multi-lingual capabilities of our application, and the embrace of open source by European governments and businesses has pulled us quickly into the European markets. The establishment of Sugar Europe will allow us to more directly serve existing customers and partners while extending our presence in Europe.”

Customer and Partner Success

“As a Dublin-based customer and soon-to-be neighbour, we'd like to welcome SugarCRM to Europe, and especially here to Dublin, the centre of gravity for software and high-tech in the EU," said Jarlath Dooley, director of business operations, FINEOS Corporation. "We selected SugarCRM over after an exhaustive comparison and rely heavily on Sugar as a core part of our business. FINEOS is a global provider of innovative componentized software solutions for the insurance, government social insurance and banking industries, all of whom expect extremely high standards in our abilities to communicate and service them. For our demanding sales management process conditions, Sugar was just plain better.”

Synolia, the first SugarCRM partner, located in Lyon, France, has successfully deployed SugarCRM to a wide range of companies in France. Most recently, Synolia implemented Sugar Professional for 140 employees of Corona Medical, a provider of furnishings and equipment to hospitals and health centres, located in Tours, France. Synolia tied SugarCRM into Corona’s ERP and eCommerce system to deliver an end-to-end CRM solution. “We wanted a solution that could adapt to the specific needs of our company,” said Laurent Guenier, IT manager at Corona Medical. “SugarCRM's architecture allows us to develop complementary modules more easily than with a proprietary CRM and to tie it into our existing systems.”

Optaros is a global consulting and systems integration firm that provides enterprise clients with IT solutions leveraging open source software. “Our partnership with Sugar gives Optaros a valuable component in assembling solutions for our clients across Europe and North America” said Frederic Weill, managing director, Optaros Europe. “Rather than offer a packaged or completely custom-built solution, Optaros offers a third alternative: best of breed solutions based on open source and open standards, where SugarCRM fits very nicely. Sugar’s increased presence in Europe will help us continue to provide rock-solid service to our clients.”

Based in Luxembourg, euroscript Group is a leader in innovative solutions in multilingual document lifecycle management, a critical technology in today's fast paced business world. “We implemented SugarCRM internally to help us better organise information and communicate with customers," said Dr Michael Schaffner, general manager of the euroscript Group Germany. "We provide our customers with extensive and solutions-oriented support for their information and communication processes. A flexible, customisable CRM solution like Sugar was just what we needed." The euroscript project was implemented together with the Hamburg-based SugarCRM Partner Genius4U Limited, which has deployed numerous SugarCRM projects across Europe.

2007 Plans

In addition to hiring an experienced local team in Dublin during 2007, Sugar Europe will focus on delivering full localisation of support materials for the French and German markets, expanding the Sugar On-Demand infrastructure, and raising awareness of the benefits of the commercial open source market in Europe.
