Reading, UK, 5th March 2007 - Gamma Telecom, one of the UK’s largest providers of voice services and applications, and Swyx a market-leading vendor of IP telephony solutions have just completed an extensive interoperability and QoS (Quality of Service) testing programme that will allow channel partners to offer a complete and reliable SIP trunking service to their customers.

Andy Bills, Senior Vice President of Sales at Swyx comments, “This alliance provides resellers with the opportunity to offer their customers a complete SIP trunking solution, enabling them to create more margin possibilities on both the voice application and the re-selling of SIP trunk lines. Their customers will also benefit significantly as they will no longer have to pay for the rental of expensive ISDN lines and they can enjoy vastly reduced call charges.”

Cem Ahmet, Marketing Manager at Gamma Telecom comments: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Swyx. The guaranteed interoperability between Gamma’s IP DirectConnect (SIP trunking service) and Swyx’s hardware means that both our channel partners will be able to increase their revenue earning potential. In addition to full PSTN connectivity, customers can take advantage of lower call costs and an application that is scaleable on a per channel basis.”

About SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Trunking

SIP Trunking complements or replaces a company’s existing analogue or ISDN telephone lines to reduce overall communication costs. The combined use of a SIP ‘ready’ IP PBX, such as Swyx and SIP Trunks from Gamma Telecom will enable users to connect directly to IP telephony services without the need for third party switches. With the widespread adoption of broadband, free or very low cost, high quality calls can be made using SIP trunks via the Internet by office and/or remote workers.
