Northgate Information Solutions, a leading provider of innovative technology solutions to the public services, utilities and corporate markets, today announces the appointment of John Hollister as Business Development Director.
John’s appointment further reinforces Northgate’s expansion strategy as he joins the senior management team that is spearheading the company’s move into larger public sector deals and strategic areas, including business process outsourcing. Working within Northgate’s key markets in the public and corporate sectors – including local government, education, criminal justice, law enforcement, emergency services, human resources and utilities – John will identify new opportunities, work with existing customers, and respond to larger bidding opportunities.
John and the team will pioneer new ways of working collaboratively with public sector bodies, building on Northgate’s track record of incremental partnership and leading the way on the shared services agenda. These innovative models will help tackle the challenges facing public sector organisations to meet efficiency targets and deliver personalised public services to individuals.
John joins Northgate with a wealth of experience in the public sector and 25 years of experience in ICT, having most recently worked as the Head of Strategic Supplier Management at the Office of Government Commerce. He was previously Project Director at Partnerships UK, where he was responsible for PUK’s Northern Ireland business.

4. John was previously Head of Strategic Supplier Management at the Office of Government Commerce, responsible for the professional services and business process outsourcing market sectors. Previous to this role, John was the Project Director responsible for Partnerships UK’s Northern Ireland business, supporting the development of PFI and PPP projects and establishing local capabilities within the Strategic Investment Board. Prior to joining PUK, John’s work in UK central government was in a number of consultancy capacities over 12 years working for the CCTA (subsequently OGC), which built on previous experience with KPMG and Coopers & Lybrand and his ICT background with London Transport and Hambros Bank.
