London, 23 March 2007 – The first ever awards ceremony for the data centre sector in Europe was celebrated yesterday evening in London at an inaugural ceremony at Data Centres Europe 2007.

'As an industry, we face many common challenges, and we are delighted to provide the opportunity through the readership base of Data Centre News, to celebrate our collective success' commented Philip Low, managing director of BroadGroup, the consultancy and event researchers and organisers.

TelecityRedbus won both the Best Pan European Data Centre award and its chief executive, Michael Tobin won CISCO sponsored Outstanding Leadership in Data Centres Award.

Best European Data Centres Award and Best Disaster Recovery Services Award was taken by IX Europe represented by Guy Willner, CEO of the company.

Other winners include Attenda – for the Best Managed Services Award, Migration Solutions – whose chief executive Alex Rabbetts took the Best Technical Project Management Company for Data Centres Award, Bladelogic who won the Most Innovative New Software Award and Active Power, who won the Most Innovative New Hardware Award.

Nominations for the 2008 Awards will open at the end of this year.
